A Gem Worth Discovering: The Lightroom (LR) Mobile App

It is good to know about how the Lightroom (LR) mobile app allows users of smartphone cameras to have more control of camera settings than the camera app that comes with the phone.

1. After downloading, installing and opening the 'LR' (Lightroom) mobile app on your smartphone or mobile device - click on the blue camera icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.

2. Three options can be accessed by touching the arrow in the bottom left of the screen - A) Automatic, B) Professional, C) High Dynamic Range. A) The 'Automatic' options doesn't give the user much control over the camera settings (from left to right in the bottom right of the screen): i) wider or telephoto lens options can be selected; ii) exposure settings can be locked; iii) a filter can be selected from a variety of options BEFORE capture the image versus afterwards. B) The 'Professional' option allows the photographer to control settings for any of: exposure ('exp'); shutter speed ('sec'); iso ('iso'); white balance ('WB'), and more.C) The High Dynamic Range (HDR) option gives control over such settings as exposure, white balance and more.
